Modern to the minute, the Red Ochre Barrel and Grill has undergone extensive refurbishment in the last twelve months. This refurbishment has focused on showcasing our original artworks, celebrating Australian bush life, by David Bromley who is one of Australia’s most famous living artists.
We think we have the coolest staircase in Australia, a little bit of a retro 90s relic that remains uber cool today. Straight into our bar where cocktails can be enjoyed.
Red Ochre Grill celebrates 20 years of continuous excellence in 2019 with a rebranded name to Red ochre Barrel and Grill.
The Red Ochre Barrel and Grill shares one of Adelaide’s most superb city restaurant locations with our sibling restaurant the River Cafè (located immediately below on the ground floor below). A floating pavilion, literally sitting on the water, both restaurants have beautiful River Torrens views looking back towards the city of Adelaide and the main arts precinct and in the dark hours, spectacular city light views.
The Red Ochre Barrel and Grill was the first Australian restaurant to explore cooking indigenous Australian ingredients and continues to showcase the exotic and intriguing produce that is unique to Australia. Kangaroo, emu and crocodile are just the start of the fascinating ingredients that can be found on our menus. Add to that the best of South Australian seafood, botanicals like desert limes, quandongs and Davidson plums to name but a few…then wonderful desserts with an Australian twist and you have the sum of the Red Ochre Barrel + Grill.
